Proven dewpoint sensing technology for trace moisture

Superdew 3 WP incorporates Shaw’s AutoCal (automatic calibration) feature, allowing users to check and adjust the span in situ without specialist equipment. By briefly exposing the SHAW dewpoint sensor to a moisture level above its operating range (often ambient air), AutoCal verifies — and, where required, corrects — instrument response. This helps maintain accuracy between laboratory calibrations, reduces downtime and can lower calibration costs.

Each unit is built around Shaw’s advanced dewpoint sensing technology, combining proven field performance with modern digital electronics for precise trace moisture measurement. Every dewpoint sensor is individually calibrated by Shaw calibration engineers to achieve a system accuracy of ±2 °C (±3.6 °F) dewpoint. Each instrument is supplied with a Certificate of Calibration traceable to national and international humidity standards (NPL), providing confidence in measurement integrity and product quality.

Performance highlights include an accuracy of ±2 °C (±3.6 °F) dewpoint, an overall range of −100 °C to +20 °C (−148 °F to +68 °F) dewpoint, fully interchangeable SHAW dewpoint sensors and ranges, and user-selectable indication in °C, °F, ppm(V) or lb/MMSCF.

The Superdew 3 WP offers full configurability to suit a wide range of trace moisture measurement requirements. Users can switch between °C dewpoint, °F dewpoint, ppm(V) or lb/MMSCF on a clear, five-character LED display. Two fully programmable alarm relays provide early warning and process control, while the intuitive front panel keypad makes set-up and operation straightforward.

Two alarms can be viewed and adjusted directly from the front panel, and AutoCal supports fast in-situ checks when needed.

Flexible installation

For straightforward integration into existing monitoring systems, the dewpoint sensor can be mounted up to 1,000 metres from the Superdew 3 WP display. This allows optimum sensor placement within complex layouts, while keeping the wall-mounted, weatherproof display accessible for operators.
