GMX 96 offers very high mechanical strength and excellent resistance to stress relaxation. Across the range, the alloys combine mechanical strength, thermal stability, corrosion resistance and friction performance, though electrical conductivity is lower than the Berylco beryllium copper grades.

Copper-nickel-tin is worth a look when a design needs strength and heat resistance but conductivity is less critical, or when a beryllium-free material is preferred. For high current contacts, beryllium copper still leads. For springs that run hot, bearings and bushings, and parts exposed to friction and corrosion, the GMX grades often come out on top.
